Description
This building is an oasthouse located approximately 10 metres north of Bank Farmhouse, likely built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick with burnt headers and features a peg-tile roof.
The oasthouse faces south towards Bank Farmhouse and has a plan that includes stowage under parallel roofs aligned on a north-south axis, with three hop kilns situated at the left (west) end.
The exterior has a two-bay front, with each bay featuring a cart-sized entrance that has 19th-century double plank doors. The left entrance is topped with a low segmental arch. At the first floor level, each bay has a loading hatch doorway, with an original horizontal sliding 12-pane sash window to the right. High in the wall between the bays is a clock face. The roofs are hipped at both ends. The hop kilns are circular in shape, with cornices that include bands of cogged brick, and they have tall conical roofs without cowls. On the right end, there is a secondary lean-to coke store.
The interior has not been inspected.
