Description

This garden urn, located about 100 metres southeast of Bedgebury Park House, dates from the 18th century and is set on a 19th-century granite base. The urn features a bell-shaped base and a bowl adorned with fluting and lion masks, enhanced with interlaced vines and bunches of grapes, as well as antique heads. The arms of the urn are designed with unusual interlocking growths, resembling roots or stems. It is positioned at the base of what was originally a formal descent from the garden terraces connected to the house.
