Description

This is a house, now a row of shops located on Stone Street in Cranbrook. The core of the building dates back to the 16th century, but it was re-clad in the 18th century. It is a timber-framed building with weatherboard cladding and a plain tiled roof. A gabled dormer is visible at the extreme left of the front, and a small, rendered, projecting parapetted dormer is on the extreme right. The building is two storeys and attics high. The front has an irregular arrangement of six windows on the first floor, with glazing bar sashes. Below are six shop fronts, four of which have glazed doors. To the left, a projecting half-hipped, gabled wing has glazing bar sashes on the first floor and in the gable, and a double shop front below with a central recessed entrance. The left return front has two windows on the first floor with glazing bar sashes, and larger windows with glazing bars on the ground floor.
