Description

The statues flanking the entrance, located 50 yards south of Preston Hall, were created around 1850 by the sculptor John Thomas for Edward Betts. They are made of stone and stand on rectangular plinths. One plinth supports a statue of a lion and a lioness grappling with a python, while the other features two dogs. The plinths are adorned with strap-work and floral decoration.
