Description
Hollanden Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse, likely dating from the early 17th century. The building is timber-framed with brick underbuilding in a Flemish bond pattern, distinguished by blue headers, and has a tile-hung first floor. The roof is covered in peg tiles, and features a brick stack.
The plan is unclear due to limited access, but it appears to be a classic three-room layout with a lobby entrance. The two right-hand (south) rooms are likely heated by back-to-back fireplaces sharing an axial brick stack. A rear outshut is also present.
The west-facing front has an asymmetrical facade with four window bays. The roof is half-hipped at the ends. A 20th-century porch with a hipped roof and rustic posts sits to the right of the centre, sheltering a 19th-century panelled front door. The ground floor to the left of the porch is blank. The ground floor to the right features two probably early 20th-century tripartite sash windows, with 12 panes in the centre and 4 in the outer lights. The first floor has four 19th-century casement windows with 3 and 4 lights. The stack has staggered shafts and a corbelled brick cornice.
The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey, but it is likely to retain features of interest, including a 17th-century roof. An internal inspection may be needed to refine the building’s dating.
