Description
The National Westminster Bank and two adjoining premises to the north form a terraced row. The core at the rear may date from the 16th century, while the blocks facing The Square are from the 18th century. The elevation on the right is roughcast, and the left is rendered. There is a parapet on the left and eaves on the right. The building has a plain tiled roof with a very large central ridge stack. It is two storeys high and features a six-window front. The first floor has a regular arrangement, with three small sash windows to the right and three larger sash windows to the left, all with glazing bars. The ground floor has irregular fenestration, including a large double shop front to the left and two splayed shop fronts to the right. There are three doorways: one to the left of each right-hand shop front and one dividing the left-hand shop front. There is evidence of a framed structure at the rear. The building continues to the left and to the rear as The Wrotham Shop, which is listed separately under High Street.
