Description

Bishop's Lodge is a house dated 1734, though incorporating an earlier framed structure at the rear and featuring an early 19th-century front elevation. The front is stuccoed, with a plat band, while the sides are red brick. The roof is tiled, with a parapet and three flat-roofed dormers with leaded windows, and has projecting brick stacks at each end. The building follows a parallel range plan. It has two storeys and attics, with a regular three-bay facade featuring glazing bar sash windows. A central panelled door is set within a Doric doorcase composed of half-columns and a moulded entablature. The date "1734" is inscribed on the chimney-breast at the side. A rear kitchen wing incorporates a 17th-century framed structure.
