Description

A row of cottages, likely originating as a 17th century timber-framed building and substantially refronted in the 18th century. The front facade is of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The right side elevation has a red brick ground floor and a tile-hung first floor, set upon a deep stone and brick plinth. A weatherboarded lean-to extension is attached to number 8. The roof is tiled, with half-hipped sections and central and end brick stacks. The cottages have two storeys and four windows. The windows are 16-pane sashes, each with rubbed brick voussoirs. The doors are mostly 20th-century plank doors with cambered architraves, with the exception of the half-glazed door at number 8. There is a break in the building line between numbers 6 and 8.
