Description
No. 34 King Street is a house that dates back to the late medieval period. It features a timber-framed structure that was refronted and underbuilt in the early 19th century. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, while the first floor is plastered. The building has an old tiled roof. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century three-light casement windows, and on the ground floor, there are two mullioned and transomed casement windows. The rear elevation includes a tall brick chimneystack. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with two round-headed alcoves. The attic reportedly has a cruciform crownpost roof that dates to before 1500, which has been seen from the adjoining Avicia Cottage.
