Description
This is a house, originally dating to the 16th century or earlier, and possibly incorporating timber-frame construction that was later refaced in the 18th century. The front is faced with painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, topped by an eaves cornice decorated with wooden modillions. The roof is tiled, and there are two tall brick chimneystacks at the rear. The building is two storeys high with four windows. The windows are 16-pane sash windows set within moulded architraves. A doorcase features an open pediment, console brackets, and pilasters; it shelters a 6-panelled door with the two upper panels glazed. There is a visible plinth. The rear elevation has a plastered gable. Inside, a wooden fireplace is notable, featuring an eared architrave and a frame with curved braces and a crownpost.
