Description
The pavilion to the northwest and stables of Mereworth Castle, built around 1740 to 1750 and possibly designed by Henry Flitcroft, features rendered walls with stone dressings. The central structure is a cube with a hipped slate roof, which is topped by a blind lantern. It has a deep Tuscan columned portico on the east side, along with arcaded porticos on the north and south sides. A triglyph frieze is present, but no interiors have survived. The stables are located to the west, although they were not seen during the recent survey.
