Description
The Red Lion Public House is a Grade II listed building located on the south side of Sevenoaks Road in Borough Green. It is an L-shaped structure that combines a 17th-century cottage at the rear with a 19th-century block facing the road. The north front features a rendered plinth and painted roughcast elevations, topped by a hipped roof with two off-ridge stacks, one on the right and one centrally at the rear. There are two small gables at the back to the west. The building has two storeys and a garret, with a three-window front that includes glazing bar sashes in the outer bays, while the central first-floor window is blocked. The central entrance is a half-glazed door.
On the east front, the 17th-century cottage is to the left and the 19th-century addition is to the right. This side is plastered and has a plain tiled roof, with one dormer on the right and a ridge stack on the left. The right side has two storeys with a garret, while the left side has two storeys. The left section has an irregular one-window front, and the right section has a regular two-window front. There are boarded doors on either side of a ground-floor window to the left, and a central half-glazed door to the right.
