Description
Westbrook House is a house that includes a former hall-house at the rear, dating from the 15th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a brick modillion cornice beneath a plain tiled roof, which has an end projecting stack on the right. The building has two storeys and a three-window front, with glazing bar sashes. The outer bays on both floors are tripartite, and all windows have gauged flat arched heads. The central entrance features a panelled door with glazed top panels, supported by pilasters with bracketed capitals that hold up a shallow flat hood. On the west side, there is a large projecting breast, with random rubble below and red brick above, which includes a Maltese cross in brick at the top of the breast. The ground floor on the right is also red brick, with exposed framing and curved braces above. Inside, there is an original window on the landing with a mullion, although it is now blocked. The hall wall posts and brace feature arched bracing, and the roof above has been rebuilt.
