Description

This is a farmhouse, now divided into two cottages, dating from around 1500. It has been altered and expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries. The exterior is painted brick laid on a rendered plinth, topped with a plain tiled hipped roof, including gablets. A ridge stack is located on the right side, and an end stack on the right as well. Some timber framing is visible beneath the paint on the first floor to the left. The two-storey front has two windows, with a slightly irregular appearance. Segment-headed arches feature above the ground-floor windows, and easements are present. The entrance to the cottage at No. 259 is at the rear, to the right. The entrance to No. 257 is within a one-storey wing projecting toward the road on the left.
