Description

This is an early 19th century stuccoed house comprising a central block and two wings. The central portion is three stories high with a basement, and a later-added attic floor featuring a mansard roof. It has five sash windows with original glazing bars, including four in curved bays. A notable feature is a wrought iron trelliswork balcony with a tent-shaped canopy on the first floor, along with a cornice above the second floor, an imitation balustrade parapet, and a porch supported by pilasters. The wings are three stories high with a basement and feature five sash windows retaining their original glazing bars. They also have a cornice above the first floor and a parapet similar in style to the central section. A large, modern wing extends from the south end. The house was formerly occupied by Archbishop Tait.
