Description
The outbuilding located about 20 metres south of Chambers Wall Farmhouse is a Grade II listed structure, possibly a former chapel that has served as a house and is now an outhouse. It dates from the 15th century or earlier. The building is constructed of chalk and flint, with roughcast, although part of the rear elevation is exposed and features timber framing clad in corrugated iron. It has a corrugated iron roof and is a single storey with a corbelled jettied upper section and a raking flat roof.
The left side has a wooden casement window, while the centre features a boarded door. Inside, there is a single chamber with chalk block and flint chequer walls, and a pointed arch recess on the north wall. The windows in the west and north walls, as well as the door, have chamfered splays. An inserted fireplace is located in the north-east corner, and the rear wall displays close-studding. The building was previously described as a two-storey timber-framed structure with a continuous jetty and a hipped tiled roof, but the upper storey has since been removed.
