Description
No. 12 West Street is a building with an 18th-century front that conceals a 17th-century timber-framed core. It has two storeys and features three windows and three dormers. The exterior is finished with mathematical tiles and has a wooden modillion eaves cornice, topped by a slate roof. The glazing bars are intact. The doorway is framed by a moulded architrave with a projecting cornice, and it includes a rectangular fanlight above a door with six fielded panels. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 1 and 2 and Nos. 4 to 12, alongside Nos. 14 to 16, all of which contribute to the character of The Market Place.
