Description
St Mary's Vicarage is an early 19th century building located on Preston Street. It is two storeys tall with an attic and a semi-basement, featuring five windows and three round-headed dormers. The structure is made of red brick and has a wide wooden cornice, a brick parapet, and a mansarded slate roof. The glazing bars are intact, and the ground floor windows are round-headed. The central window on the first floor is set in a recessed panel with a four-centred head. The vicarage has an attractive recessed rusticated doorway with a keystone above, panelled reveals, a semi-circular fanlight, and an eight-panelled door. At the north end, there is a passageway and a flight of steps leading to a contemporary two-storey extension that has one window and a flush panelled door with a doorcase on the ground floor. St Mary's Vicarage is part of a group with Nos 53 and 55 to 59.
