Description
This barn, located 30 meters south of Brenley Farmhouse, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame set on a base of flint and red brick, and is clad with red and blue brick as well as weatherboarding, topped with a plain tiled roof. The barn was built in several stages and originally measured 85 yards in length, but the west end has been destroyed, leaving only the rear wall intact. It has two gabled ends and a single-storey brick extension on the right side.
Inside, the right section consists of three bays with aisles, featuring passing shores to the arcade posts and a clasped purlin roof with windbraces. The left section has four bays with aisles, staggered purlins, and a queen post roof.
