Description
Farmhouse, dating from the 16th century to the early 19th century. The building is timber framed and covered with mathematical tiles, with plain tile hanging on the left return. It has a plain tiled roof. Rear ranges date from the 16th century and were fronted with a new wing around 1700, with further extensions and mathematical tile cladding around 1800. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a basement, standing on a plinth and featuring a moulded eaves cornice to the hipped roof, which steps down to hipped extensions on both the left and right sides. There are stacks at the rear left and rear right. The first floor has five wooden casement windows, arranged 1:3:1, while the ground floor has three large multi-light metal casement windows. A boarded door sits to the left, with a flat hood over it, and a central door consisting of six panels with a half-glazed outer door. This door has a pedimented surround on projecting pilasters, with a flight of six steps and ball finials to the side wall piers. A basement opening is located on the right side. The interior features moulded ceiling beams and mantel beams, moulded wooden cornices, and a wainscotted room within the circa 1700 wing. Exposed timber framing is present elsewhere, along with a newel staircase. The circa 1800 casements have iron frames externally and bronze or brass internally.
