Description

The Bothy is a house dating from the 15th century with alterations in the 18th century. It is timber framed and originally clad with red brick; the left return front is rendered. The roof is slate-covered and hipped. The building stands on a plinth with a discontinuous projecting band and brick corbelled eaves. A stack is located to the rear left. The windows are irregular, with three wooden casements on each floor. The ground floor windows have a segmental head, while the door is located centrally on the left side. It has a half-glazed door with an open pediment and pilaster surround. The interior contains fragmentary remains suggesting a possible Wealden house plan.
