Description
No. 4 and the adjoining old forge building is a house dating from the late 17th century, with an extension added in 1825. The house is constructed of painted brick and has a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys tall on a plinth, featuring a plat band and a half-hipped roof on the left side. There are three wooden casement windows on each floor. The central entrance is a panelled door set in a panelled surround, topped with a flat hood, and there is a blocked window space to the right.
The old forge building, which is now used as a garage, is located to the right of the house. It is timber-framed and clad with weatherboard, topped with a corrugated iron roof. This building is a single storey and includes one metal casement window, one glazed and shuttered forge door, half-doors to the left, and garage doors to the right. Both the forge building and the left end window bay of the house were built in 1825 for Thomas Pembury, a blacksmith.
