Description

The Engine Shed at Faversham Station, built around 1858, is a railway engine shed constructed from stock brick with red brick dressings and a slate roof. It features a plain classical style and is a single storey building with nine windows. The sides are adorned with red brick saw tooth cornices and are divided into panels, each containing a round-headed window with 26 fixed metal panes set within a round-headed red brick arch. The gable end includes an oculus, a stylized tumbling in the left side round-headed window, and full height round-headed double doors on the right side. This structure was built for the East Kent Railway line.
