Description

Cherry Tree Cottages is a row of cottages built around 1845. They are constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. The cottages are two storeys high with an attic, featuring boxed eaves and chimney stacks positioned centrally to the left and right. Each floor has three glazing bar sashes, and the ground floor has three half-glazed and panelled doors, each with a semi-circular arched surround. All ground floor openings are topped with gauged heads. The garret windows, and all but one (now reset) of the rear windows, retain metal casements featuring three pointed arched lights. A similar window is present on the rear of the attached outhouse. These buildings were constructed shortly after 1841, as they are not depicted on the 1841 Tithe Map. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
