Description
The George Inn is a public house dating from the 17th century. It features a timber-framed structure with exposed plaster infill, and the ground floor is clad with weatherboard. The building has a plain tiled roof and stands two storeys high with a garret. The first floor juts out, supported by dragon posts and brackets that are intricately carved with strapwork and satyr figures. The eaves also project on carved consoles and include a modillion cornice beneath the hipped roof, which has a chimney stack on the left side. There are two wood mullioned oriel windows on each floor, and half-glazed doors are located on both the left and right sides. On the right return front, there is a flint plinth and a cross-mullioned oriel window on the ground floor.
