Description
This is a range of 18th-century terraced houses, numbered 66 to 71 West Street. The buildings are two storeys and have an attic, with cellars beneath. Each property originally had one window bay and one door. They have tiled roofs, with hipped dormers to numbers 66 and 71, and flat-roofed dormers to numbers 67 to 70. Numbers 66 to 69 are built of painted brick, while numbers 70 and 71 are of brick. A moulded brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the buildings. Each house features a door on the left-hand side, and a blocked window opening above the door on the first floor. Most houses have sash windows with original frames and glazing bars, although number 70 and the lower window of number 67 have lost their original glazing. The ground floor windows are segmentally arched, with rubbed brick voussoirs. The original doors are within frames, featuring moulded friezes and projecting cornices, and are flush panelled, except for numbers 68 to 70.
