The monument to John Hughes, who died in 1776, is located 10 metres southeast of the Church of St. Michael in Throwley. It features a stone structure set on a red brick base. The monument has a two-tier rendered base and a square shape with panelled sides, topped with a cornice leading to a knopped head.
