Description

The boundary stone to the former Chart Gunpowder Mills is a Grade II listed structure, dated 1839. Made of limestone, the stone stands approximately 60 centimeters high and is inscribed with "WH/1839" on one side and "W & PBH" on the reverse.

Historically, the Chart Gunpowder Mills were part of the Royal Gunpowder Factory's Home Works. The Hall family acquired the mills in 1825. This boundary stone is associated with the nearby Chart Mills, indicating the extent of the gunpowder works and its proximity to the center of Faversham.
