Description

Tickham Cottage is a house dating to the 16th century. It is timber-framed with exposed timber and plaster infill, and has thatched roofs. The house originally had a four-bay lobby entry plan, with catslide outshots extending to the left and rear. The right-end bay appears to be a later addition, and the left-end bay may also be later with smaller framing panels. The house has a flint plinth and a hipped roof with a stack located centrally to the left. There are two wooden casements to the first floor, and three on the ground floor, with a plank and stud door set within a thatched porch in the centre of the left side. The interior features tongue and chamfered moulded beams and a clasped purlin roof.
