Description

The building is an L-shaped structure comprising Nos 50 and 51, formerly No 54. The older part, No 52, is a 16th-century timber-framed building of two storeys and three windows. It has a high-pitched tiled roof and a compound ridge stack with a cornice in several planes. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor exhibits exposed timber framing, some plaster filling, and some brickwork. The foundation is of coursed freestone. The building has small 1st-century and modern casement windows. Internally, there are old plank floors and stairs, along with remains of a diagonal mullioned window and two old doors. No 53 likely dates to the 17th century and has been altered. The left part of No 53 is two storeys high and has a half-hipped gable, displaying one window. The first floor has two windows, and the ground floor is red brick with blue headers. Modern square-paned casements and a door are situated under a cornice hood.
