Description

Withers comprises a 15th-century timber-framed building, likely originally a hall house. It has a large, long-hipped tiled roof with a single gabled dormer window. The building is two storeys high with three windows. A tall, 16th-century compound chimney stack dominates the centre. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor is constructed of 19th-century red brick, featuring a diaper pattern of blue headers. The windows are a mix of 19th-century and modern small casements. Old plank doors are set within stout frames. The roof slopes down on both sides, creating ground-floor lean-to additions. The right return and rear elevations display exposed timber framing with plaster infill. A long, two-storey timber-framed, gabled rear extension is present, alongside a single-storey pent roofed end.
