Description
Plymouth Lodge is an entrance gateway and screen walls built in the early 19th century. It features a pair of battlemented lodges that are connected in the center by ornamental gates. Each lodge is a small square building with one storey, featuring a single mullioned Gothic lattice casement window, a battlemented parapet, and a concealed slate roof. There is a moulded string course located below the parapet. The structure is constructed of random stone with ashlar dressings. Square stone gate-piers are connected to the lodges by short screen walls, and the gate-piers are topped with carved stone rampart unicorns that support shields.
