Description

This gas lamp standard, located near The Birches on Oakhill Road, dates from around 1890. It is made of cast iron and features a tapering lantern topped with a central urn finial and decorative acroteria at either end. The lamp is mounted on an octagonal column with a deep plinth. This standard is part of a series of gas lamp standards along Oakhill Road.
