Description

This is a row of five cottages located on Elliots Lane in Brasted. Numbers 2 and 3 date to the early 18th century, number 1 to the early 19th century, and numbers 4 and 5 to the early to mid-19th century. The roofs are tiled, with those of numbers 2 and 3 being particularly high-pitched. The first floors of numbers 1 to 3 are tile-hung, while the ground floors are rendered. Numbers 4 is constructed of yellow brick, and number 5 of painted brick. All the windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set in near-flush box frames, with the windows in the central section being older. The cottages have assorted doors, primarily four-panel doors, each set beneath a flat, bracketed hood.
