Description

The wellhead, located approximately 3 metres north of the Gymnasium at Radnor House, Sevenoaks School, is dated 1567 in Roman numerals. It is made of black marble with white streaks, likely Travertine, and has a bulbous shape. The wellhead features an oval crest depicting a rampant lion and a crown above, set on an octagonal base. There is a partly legible inscription that probably reads "AN NIO BON SIGNOR" along with the date 1567 in Roman numerals. This wellhead was originally the centerpiece of the rose garden and has likely remained in its current position for over a hundred years.
