Description

The Smithy building adjoining No 38, known as The Old Forge, is a timber-framed structure dating from the 16th or 17th century. It features a tiled roof with a gable end facing the road and a projecting chimney stack at the corner. The building has exposed timber framing with painted brick filling, except for the right side of the first floor, which is tile hung. There are various 19th-century casement windows. To the right, there are weather-boarded smithy buildings that also have tiled roofs and extend to the rear.
