Description
The Lodge is a former lodge to Churchill Court, built around 1900 by Thomas Potter and later enlarged and altered by Imrie and Angell around 1926. The original structure is made of stone with a tiled roof and brick chimney stacks. It features an apsidal end and a two-storey gabled section with box framing on the first floor, along with pierced barge-boarding and a pendant. The first floor includes wooden mullioned and transomed casement windows, while the ground floor has a stone mullioned and transomed bay, as well as similar windows on the apse. In the 1920s, a tile-hung bay was added to the right side, featuring a recessed plank door and an apsidal end with mullions that echo the existing design. The rear elevation consists of part stone and part brick on the ground floor, with the first floor being tile-hung.
