Description

The Fleur de Lis Public House and associated cottages date from 1855. They form a two-story, L-shaped range built in the Tudor style. The building has six windows on one part and three windows on the other, with a single-story projecting corner. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof and tall, decorative brick chimneys. The exterior is red brick with blue brick detailing. There are five gabled ends facing the road, half-timbered with plaster infill. Stone mullioned windows feature four-centred arches, and some have hood moulds, though one or two windows have been modernised. A brick gable with stone trim is incorporated into the Public House section. Two original doorways, each under a four-centred brick arch, are present; one has been altered to a window. The building is part of a group that includes the British Legion Hall, Leigh Club, Village Hall, and their forecourt walls, along with the Fleur de Lis Cottages and Public House.
