Description
Pilbeams is a farmhouse dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century that has been restored. Originally, it was two cottages. The building features a framed structure that stands on a stone plinth with brick infilling above. The first floor overhangs to the south and is tile hung. It has diamond-paned windows and a ridge tile roof with a hipped end stack. Inside, there is a restored inglenook fireplace, exposed beams, and low ceilings. The appearance of the framing suggests it was once a hall house, although it has a side-purlin roof.
