Description
This is an early 19th-century oast house located approximately 13 yards southeast of Battel Hall. The lower half of the ground floor, the south gable end, the entire west elevation, and the north gable end are constructed of chequered red and grey brick, while the rest of the first floor is weatherboarded. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles. The building features a stowage area with an internal kiln located at the right end. The road-facing elevation has three small boarded hatches at different heights within the weatherboarding, along with a blocked ground-floor door towards the west end. A conical kiln roof, capped with lead, protrudes from the ridge near the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
