Description

This is a chest tomb from the 18th century located about 20 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of All Saints in Staplehurst. It is made of stone and sits on a stone base, featuring a moulded plinth and a corniced lid. The tomb has gadrooned side pilasters and a fielded inscription panel with concave corners. The inscription is largely illegible as of the last survey.
