Description

Hope Cottages is a row of three houses, built in the early to mid-19th century, likely around 1840. The ground floor is constructed of coursed ragstone, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The roof is slate-covered. The cottages have two storeys and feature two buff brick ridge stacks, one positioned towards each end. The front has a regular facade with four windows, each containing twelve panes of glazing in casement frames. The ground-floor windows have segmental heads. There are four boarded doors, each with a segmental head, located at the left end (No. 1), centrally (Nos. 2 and 3), and the right end (No. 4). A narrow, later, two-storey range extends parallel to the rear. The interior remains unexamined.
