Description

The monument to Samuel Hovenden is a chest tomb located about 6 metres east of the south chapel of the Church of St. Mary in Hunton. It dates from the mid-17th century and is constructed of stone. The tomb features a moulded base and lid, with plain side panels. An inscription on the west end commemorates Samuel Hovenden, a gentleman who died in 1653 or 1658.
