Description
Clock Tower House is a building that was originally stables and is now used as flats and a store. It dates from the early to mid-18th century. The ground floor is made of roughly coursed ragstone, while the first floor features a chequered pattern of red and grey brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a double depth.
On the south elevation, the building stands two storeys high on a stone plinth and has a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The roof is hipped, with the hips returning. At the center, there is a wooden clock turret that houses a bell and a weathervane. The windows have been altered and consist of four 2-light casements, along with three ground-floor windows that have cambered brick heads. There are ground-floor doors located to the west. The interior has only been partially inspected. The building is depicted in a painting from 1776 by Gennings and is included for its group value.
