Description
Somerfield Terrace consists of four blocks of semi-detached villas built around 1850, likely for officers stationed at the nearby Barracks. These three-storey buildings are constructed of stock brick and feature hipped slate roofs with an eaves cornice. A stringcourse runs between the ground and first floors. Each villa has two sash windows, most of which retain their original glazing bars. The villas have recessed sections that are two storeys high and one bay wide. The entrances to these recessed extensions are adorned with fine cast iron porches featuring an anthemion motif, although Nos 67 and 69 have lost their porches. Nos 61 to 77 form a cohesive group.
