Description
Nos. 30-36 on Ware Street is a row of cottages, possibly originally built as almshouses, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with occasional grey brick headers, and feature a plain tile roof. They have a double depth plan and stand two storeys high on a stone plinth. A moulded band runs vertically at the center of the first floor, surrounding a plain rectangular recess beneath the eaves. The eaves are adorned with a moulded brick cornice. The roof is hipped at both ends, with the hips extending along the side elevations. There are brick ridge stacks located towards either end of the row. The front facade has a regular arrangement of four widely spaced two-light casements, and there are four 20th-century half-glazed doors, with two located at the center and one at each end.
