Description
The Malt House is a public house that has been converted into a house, dating back to the 16th century. It features a timber-framed structure with plaster infilling and a plain tile roof. The building consists of approximately five timber-framed bays and has two storeys along with a cellar, all resting on a plinth made of flint and stone.
There is a continuous jetty supported by solid brackets, with the left half set slightly lower than the right. The jetty returns to the right on a moulded dragon post. Both floors of the building are close-studded, and there is a moulded fillet halfway up the first floor on the right side. The roof is hipped, with a projecting brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack towards the left end. Additionally, there is a 20th-century brick stack located on the front slope of the roof towards the right end.
The fenestration is irregular, featuring five leaded casements, which include one small single light, one two-light, and three three-light windows. There is a ribbed door beneath the left ridge stack, framed by a moulded architrave, which is accessed by two steps. The interior has not been inspected.
