Description

The monument to Edward Usborne is a chest tomb located adjacent to the south aisle of the Church of All Saints in Staplehurst. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of stone, resting on a high stone base. The tomb features a plain plinth and a lightly corniced lid. The side panels have moulded plinths and recessed central panels that slightly project forward. There is a marble inscription panel dedicated to Edward Usborne, who died in 1765, with encircled stone achievements in relief positioned below the inscription.
