Description
The monument to Mr. Thomas Porter is located approximately 17 yards southeast of the south chapel of the Church of St. Nicholas. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of stone, standing on a double-stepped stone base that features a lightly-moulded plinth and a corniced lid. The monument has fluted side panels and floral decorations at the corners of the inscribed area. At the top, it is surmounted by a swept, heavily gadrooned base with a corniced top, which includes an iron spike for additional ornamentation. This monument commemorates Mr. Thomas Porter, who passed away in 1784.
