Description

Romney Place comprises a small terrace of four Tudor Gothic houses, numbered 11 to 14, built around 1830. The houses are three storeys high and faced in stucco, with tiled roofs. The design features a central section flanked by two projecting wings, each with gables ornamented with scalloped bargeboards, finials, and pendants; however, the finial and pendant are missing from number 14. Each house has two windows to the front elevation, with number 14 having three windows facing Padsole Lane. The ground floor and first floor windows have pointed panes and dripstones above. The doorways are obtusely pointed, each with a fanlight in a matching shape. The windows on Padsole Lane, at number 14, include triple casements on the second floor and triple mullioned and transomed Gothic glazed casements with hood mouldings to the lower floors. Numbers 1 to 14 form a group.
